Nothing can be
more challenging than widening an existing street and adding
new sidewalks and drainage.
Generally new
right of way and easements are required. All the adjoining
property ownerships must be determined and communication and
negotiation with these owners is usually
necessary.
Utilities must be
carefully located vertically and horizontally and relocations
are difficult.
Grades for
intersections and streets must match existing driveways and
entrances.
Sidewalks must
comply with handicap accessibility
standards.
Traffic calming
measures, streetscapes, street lighting, traffic signals,
signage, and turning lanes must also be
considered.
The Gray Rock Team
has developed the experience needed to successfully coordinate
the design of all these elements.
